OUR NEW AUTOMATION AND AUTONOMY SOLUTIONS

Our new technology helps farmers reach next-level productivity and profitability

Case IH and New Holland’s significant automation developments are only accelerating as our integration of Raven continues.

At Tech Day, this truth was evident. We unveiled our New Driverless Tillage and Driver Assist Harvest solutions from Raven, as well as our Baler Automation from Case IH and New Holland. These automation and autonomous equipment enhancements form part of our Ag Tech Roadmap. They’re solutions that are helping to answer farming’s biggest questions: how do we increase productivity, increase efficiency, and operate more sustainably?

Driver Assist Harvest Solution

This new automation technology for the tractor platform leverages our Case IH brand’s harvest technology with Raven Autonomy integration.

It provides a coordinated control feature that helps chart the path and speed of the tractor pulling the grain cart alongside a combine harvester, for ‘unload on the go’ operation.

Driver Assist Harvest Solutions keep the tractor perfectly in sync with the combine harvester when unloading grain – giving the combine operator seamless control over the unloading process. This makes the full operation more efficient, with less grain spillage. The new technology helps reduce the impact of any skilled labor shortages by simplifying the task. It also provides a better user experience with less operator fatigue. You can expect to see this solution soon across both our Case IH and New Holland brands.

It’s a game-changer for our customers. And they’re telling us all about it.

Brady Fahlman is a fifth-generation farmer from Holdfast, Saskatchewan, Canada. His family have seen the benefits of Precision Technology first-hand.

“The Harvest Command is something that had a real immediate impact on our farm.”

“My brother-in-law likes to come out and help us for harvest and he doesn't come from a farming background at all. So he's a very inexperienced operator. But having that Harvest Command there, we had the confidence to know that throughout the day the combine was going to adjust. And the quality of the grain was going to stay right where we wanted it.”

“So it got him comfortable very quick and then we could teach him more after that.”

Driverless Tillage Solution

The driverless tillage solution features an advanced Perception System and Remote Command & Control experience from Raven Autonomy. This tech allows the machine to be operated remotely from a mobile tablet device, with no driver in the cab. The operator can plan and execute precise, automated missions with consistent agronomic results monitored from anywhere.

Working alongside existing Case IH tillage automation, it brings increased productivity and richer data insights.

John Preheim combined his family farm upbringing with his love for science and technology by putting his engineering degree to use at Raven. Now, he’s their Vice President of Product Development. He spoke about how he stays motivated.

“It's so easy to find purpose in helping feed the world. It's been awesome being able to continue staying close and connected to ag, watching my family, my wife's family use the technology we produce to help make them more efficient and profitable.

And it's been really amazing to see the journey from where we started when I got into Precision Technology to now.”

Baling Automation

Industry-first Baler Automation was also unveiled on New Holland large square balers. The new technology uses a LiDAR sensor to scan the windrow in front of the tractor for density, volume, and direction. The tractor and baler use this input to automatically control steering, forward speed, and baler settings to ensure the baler follows the windrow precisely for accurate crop feeding. The result is optimized bale shape, increased productivity, operator comfort, and reduced fuel consumption.

And great news: this feature is coming to Case IH products too.

Automation and Autonomy technology milestones in the field

These new introductions only add to our proven track record in world class Ag Tech. Earlier this year at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, Case IH and Raven introduced the agriculture industry’s first autonomous spreader – the Case IH Trident™ 5550 applicator with Raven Autonomy™ (Driverless Spreading Solution). It was the first collaboration between Raven and Case IH and a true One Team success.

Brady Fahlman has worked with the autonomous Trident for a while now.

Our innovative technology solutions have left him inspired.

“I watched that Trident go up with nobody in the cab and drive up and down the field. It was the best moment that I've had in my short farming career to see something that we've talked about and actually get it onto our farms.”

“So to me, the future is now.”
